ABOUT JO EDWARDS
In the early 80s, before sourcing from India was commonplace, when there was no internet, no mobile phones and hardly any landlines, faxes were in their infancy and would sometimes take eight hours to send, Jo was making four trips a year to Asia, tracking down small, family run businesses buying textiles, jewellery, clothes & furniture.
In the 90's she decided to channel all her energy into fashion accessories and founded her own label 'Jo Edwards London' designing scarves from India. She hasn’t looked back since.
Having exhibited at many trade shows over the years she sells to many retailers in the UK & around the world who love the vibrant colours, designs and attention to detail of her scarves that steadily fly off the shelves.
Jo Edwards has fast become the by-word for well-designed, well-finished and stylish scarves.
Jo works with small family businesses who she has known for years and who understand fair trade.
All of her factories are Sedex approved or an equivalent organisation. Jo’s suppliers do not use child or forced labour, there is no discrimination, all working conditions are safe & hygienic in a friendly caring atmosphere and wages must meet minimum legal levels. Jo visits all of her factories at least once a year, and they all adhere to the globally recognized 10 Principles of Fair Trade
